Helping You Manage Anxiety
Dental anxiety is normal. Many patients experience anxiety when they go to the dentist; in extreme cases, they may avoid visiting the dentist for treatment until a problem becomes serious.
We provide a calm, welcoming environment to reduce stress and help our patients relax. We also offer several sedation options to help anxious patients manage their anxiety and stay calm during treatment. Speak to your dentist or one of our team members to learn more about how sedation can help.
Oral Sedation
We can prescribe oral anti-anxiety or sedative medication to help you manage anxiety. Taking the medication before visiting our office will make you feel relaxed and stress-free during treatment. Talk to your dentist for more details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are sedatives safe?
Sedatives are safe if they are administered by a doctor or trained professional. Patients with sleep apnea or difficulty breathing should speak to their dentist or family doctor before taking sedatives.
What is intravenous (IV) sedation?
Some dentists offer IV sedation, a form of sedative administered directly through a vein in your arm. IV sedation causes a deep level of relaxation where you will be unaware of your surroundings.
Can I drive after sedation dentistry?
In most cases, no. Sedatives will slow your reaction times and impair your ability to operate a vehicle. Arrange transportation home from your sedation appointment and stay safe.
